This is good book to understand the origin of Tamil and Dravidam
The author tried to put forward the similarity of Dravidian and sumerian and succeeded to an extent.

This book is an experimental study about the origin of Tamils. B. Prabhakaran the author of this book goes beyond the extent of connecting Sumerian civilisation considered to be the oldest in the world with the Tamil civilisation. He also gives plausible proofs for this connection throughout the book. Quite interesting and overwhelming to read when he tries to connect the dots and dashes of the history of civilisations. He denies the existence of Kumarikandam with an logical geographical impossibility. He takes the indian mythology, fables, archiological research which resembles the Sumerian, Greek and Sindhu Civilisation as the fact of this study. Wonderful read.
The author have given out some facts that could relate that the people of Sumeria are proto Dravidians and some of the Sumerians settled in Dilmun which is termed as a heaven in Sumerian cuneiforms. The author Prabhakaran say that the city Dilmun is Tamil Nadu or South India. The book made me to buy other books related to this topic of human evolution and also about Indus Valley Civilization.
The author has substantiated some facts that there is no submerged country Lemuria which is believed to have existed and was near Kanyakumari. As there is no archaeological evidence till date to disprove his idea. He has given some examples of names from Sumeria and I found other similar words to early Tamil and one such is a place called Mari.
As per the research the first homo sapiens born in East Africa and they started to migrate to other places, and homo sapiens took the seashore route to reach other countries and as such humans came to South India not earlier than 80,000 years before that is earlier than any other civilization. How could we say that Sumerians came to South India as first with their superior culture
A good book to start for those having much interest in Archaeology and human evolution.

நம் தென்னக நாடு ஒரு மிகபெரிய வணிக ஸ்தலமாக இருந்தது எனப் பல வரலாற்று சான்று உள்ளது. எனவே நமக்கும் சுமேரியத்துக்கும் வணிக தொடர்பு ரீதியான கலாச்சார பரிமாற்றம் இருக்கலாமே ஒழிய, ஆசிரியர் கூறுவது போன்று நாம் நேரடி சுமேரியர்கலாக இருக்க வாய்ப்பில்லை எனக் கருதுகிறேன்.... ஆனால் பின்வரும் நாளில் சுமேரிய களிமண் ஏடுகள் இங்கே கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டால் ஆசிரியரின் வாதங்கள் மெய்பிக்க நிறைய வாய்ப்புண்டு.

சிந்திக்கத் தூண்டும் மாபெரும் படைப்பு. ஆசிரியர் திரு. பிரபாகரனின் கருத்துகள் புறந்தள்ள முடியாத வலிமையுடன் உள்ளன. தமிழ் கூறும் நல்லுலகம் படிக்க வேண்டிய சிறந்த ஒரு புத்தகம்.

Good one .. must read for all Tamilians
Not a great book. Lots of assumption & Speculation. only 10% of content in the book is creating interest on Archaeological sense. Disappointed.
This is one of the best books I have read. I strongly recommend this book for all age groups. You can be really excited once you finish reading the book to understand better about Origin of Tamil peoples.
Mostly gives a hypothetical answer rather than an answer with proof. Though it clears some doubts like there's no place like kumari kandam but still doesn't have proof that Tamil people migrated from some other regions.
Read slowly so that I should not miss . But still it was tough to comprehend the author’s references. When Thamizh Desiam discussions are in peak at Tamilnadu , I don’t know the likes of Paarisalan , Malar Mannan had made any comments .As Prabhakar did a full research , I can not deny or demean his assumptions . The way he concluded that he is from Mesapatomia , I liked his courage to declare . I would like to read his TRACES OF MEDITERRANEAN ORIGIN which is in English version and the comments received for his submission as well.
It is full of assumptions with reference to historical and classical texts. More like reading a thesis.
Tamil history with his thoughts and facts
Good book, explained in detail with his thoughts and relating with some facts about the origin of tamilans...the facts he put forth seems to be justifiable that's we are from sumeria..
Book has a compilation of research work evidences and the author's assumptions which concludes the origin of Tamizhs as Sumarians. The concept is hard to digest for people like me who was told that either this land or kumarikandam is the origin of Tamizhs. Although the author tried to prove us with few archaeological evidences and genetical connections between the two civilizations, there are still few disconnections that we can see. His assumptions are interesting to read but tough to believe.
The author is very knowledgeable and efforts put in to gather immense data on the subject is highly appreciable. Then his ability to correlate differing facts and rationalizing the connection speaks volume about his passion for the subject besides Thamizh knowledge. Look forward to more such writings on Thamizh

A rather poisonous mix of history and pseudo-history.
There are some very valid and strong leads raised throughout the book, but the way those are handled are flimsy at the best.
Some that I found interesting are,
1. Author's question on how Tamils built huge structures like tanjore temple in ~1300 CE, but there are no existing structures before this time period. Did tamils sleep till 1300 CE and suddenly decide to build or were their culture lost or did they come from somewhere else ?
2. Author's question on scarcity of tamil literature from BC. Were they lost - how ?
3. Author's comments on Baruhi language
4. Author's elucidation of gene research.
The word analogies that the author uses to compare sumerian language, indus valley scripture and dravidian scripts are at times very diluted and wandering to be taken seriously or labelled as serious research.
Still, a very interesting read and a page turner for sure.

ஆனால், வேர்ச்சொல் ஆராய்ச்சியில், தன் கற்பனைக்குதிரையை தட்டிவிட்டுள்ளார். வரலாற்று ஆராய்ச்சி என்ற பெயரில் மாக்ஸ் முல்லர் போன்றவர்கள் தட்டிவிட்டதைப் பார்க்கும்போது, இது நியாயப்படுத்தக்கூடியது தான். சில வேர்ச்சொல் உறவுகள் விவாதத்திற்குரியன. அவை தான் இந்த ஆராய்ச்சிக்கு ஆதாரம் என்பதால், ஆராய்ச்சி ஊகங்கள் நிராகரிக்கப் படவேண்டியவை.
லெமூரியா, குமரிக்கண்டம் போன்ற புராணங்களை இந்தப் புத்தகம் சரியாக நிராகரிக்கிறது.

நூலாசிரியரின் தமிழர்கள் பற்றிய ஆய்வுக்கட்டுரையே இந்நூலாக வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆசிரியரின் கோட்பாடுகள் அனைத்தும் அவருடைய அனுமானத்தினாலும் சில அகச்சான்றுகளின் அடிப்படையிலும் குமரிக்கண்டம் என்பது தமிழ்நாட்டின் தெற்கே ஆழி பேரூழிக்குள் மறைந்த இடமன்று எனவும் மாறாக இராக் அருகில் அமைந்த மாபெரும் நாகரிகமான சுமேரியமே என்று பதிவிடுகிறார்.
தமிழர்கள் தொன்மையானவர்கள் என்றாலும் அவர்களின் தொன்மை ஏறக்குறைய 3000 ஆண்டுகளுக்குள் நடந்த நிகழ்வுகளை கொண்டே சொல்லப்பட்டாலும், அதற்கு முன்னால் அவர்களின் நிலைமை என்னவாக இருந்தது என்பதையும், இத்தனை தொன்மையான நாகரீகம் அதற்கு முன் ஏன் கட்டிடங்களையோ, நூல்களையோ எழுதவில்லை என்ற ஒரு நியாயமான கேள்வியோடு ஆய்வை தொடங்கியுள்ளார். அதற்கு முன்னும் தமிழர்கள் நாகரீக வளர்ச்சியில் மேம்பட்டு இருந்தார்கள் என்றும், அவர்களின் அந்த வளர்ச்சிக்கு இப்போதும் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் சுமேரிய அகழ்வாராய்ச்சிகளே அடையாளம் எனக்கூறுகிறார்.
சுமேரியர்களின் கடவுள் வழிபாடு, அடையாளங்கள், கடவுள்களின் வரலாற்று கதைகள், அவர்கள் பயன்படுத்திய பொருட்கள் என அனைத்தையும் தமிழர்களோடு ஒப்பிட்டு அங்கே ஏற்படவிருந்த அழிவிற்கு முன்பாக மக்கள் அங்கிருந்து கிரீட் தீவு சென்று பிறகு சிந்து சமவெளியை அடைந்தார்கள் என அவர் கோட்பாடு வலியுறுத்துகிறது. அதே போல, சிந்து சமவெளியில் இருந்தும் அதே காரணத்திற்காக இன்றைய கேரளாவை வந்தடைந்தார்கள் என்றும் எடுத்துரைக்கிறார். அதற்காக அவர் உதாரணமாவும், சான்றாகவும் தமிழ் சங்கம், தென் மதுரை, பருளியாறு, கபாடபுரம், பண்டைய பாண்டியர்களின் மீன் இலட்சினை, மேலும் கேரளா உருவான வரலாறு என்று பல சான்றுகளை அனுமானித்து ஆராய்ந்தும் கூறுகிறார்.
இவையாவும் ஆசிரியரின் அனுமானமே என்றாலும், உண்மையாக இருந்தால் பெருமையாகவே இருக்கும்.
குமரிக்கண்டமா சுமேரியமா? பா. பிரபாகரன் எழுதிய புத்தகத்தின் விமர்சனத்தை இங்கு பதிவு செய்கிறேன். இவை முழுக்க முழுக்க என்னுடைய தனிப்பட்ட கருத்து. நான் புத்தகத்திற்கு வழங்கும் மதிப்பீடு 3.6/5. நூலாசிரியரின் முக்கிய நோக்கமானது தமிழர்களின் நாகரிகத்திற்கும் சுமேரிய நாகரிகத்திற்கும் இடையே உள்ள ஒற்றுமைகளை முன்வைப்பதுதான்.
நேர்மறையான கருத்துகள்:
1. குமரி நிச்சயமாக லெமூரியா கண்டமாக இருக்காது என்பதை அறிவியல் ஆதாரத்துடன் எழுதியுள்ளார்.
2. சுமேரிய மற்றும் மினோயன் நாகரிகத்தை பற்றி தெளிவான ஆராய்ச்சி.
3. இரண்டு நாகரிகத்திற்கும் இடையே உள்ள ஒற்றுமையை ஒப்பிட்டு பார்ப்பதில் நூலாசிரியரின் அணுகுமுறை சிறப்பாக இருந்தது.
எதிர்மறை கருத்துகள்:
1. இது ஆய்வுக்கட்டுரை என்பதால் இலக்கிய நூல்கள் மற்றும் அனுமானத்தை சார்ந்தே எழுதியுள்ளார்.
2. வேர்ச்சொல் ஆராய்ச்சி சற்றே கற்பனையாக இருந்தது.
3. அறிவியல் மற்றும் வரலாறு சான்றுகள் அதிகமில்லை.
நிறைய வரலாறு மற்றும் அறிவியல் ஆதாரத்துடன் எழுதியிருந்தால் இன்னும் சிறப்பாக இருத்திருக்கும். மேலும் இலக்கியம் மற்றும் இதிகாச புராணங்களும் புனைந்து எழுதப்பட்டது. ஆதலால், அதிலிருந்து திரட்டப்பட்ட ஆதாரங்கள் எந்தளவிற்க்கு நம்பாக தன்மையுடன் இருக்கும் என்பதுதான் கேள்வி குறி.

Worst book
This is the worst book I have ever read in my life. His hallucination of relating Tamil and Sumerian is so rubbish.
