எக்காலத்திற்கும் போர் அவசியம் என்றால் இல்லை என்றே சொல்லவேண்டும். ஆனால் போர்க்குணம் வாழ்க்கைக்கு அவசியம். எதிரியை சாய்ப்பதைவிட, நாம் முன்னேறுவதற்கு நிச்சயம் தேவை. அப்படி பல போர் யுத்திகளை பற்றி சுவாரசியமாக போர் வீரர்கள், அரசர்கள், படைத்தளபதிகள் என்று வரலாற்று நாயகர்களை வைத்து விவரித்துள்ளார் இறையன்பு. எதிரிகளை நேசி, புயலென புறப்படு, பதுங்கிப்பாய், கவனத்தை திசைதிருப்பு, வழிகளை தங்கு என்று மொத்தம் 23 யுத்திகளை பற்றி பேசியுள்ளார். ஒவ்வொரு யுத்திகளின் உதாரணங்கள் சரவெடியாக தெறிக்கிறது. எனக்கு பிடித்த யுத்தி : "முடிவை முன்னிறுத்து" வியட்நாம் போராளி ஹோ சி மின் செய்த அசத்திய போர்குணத்தால் அமெரிக்காவை பந்தாடினார். தேவையில்லாமல் மூக்கை நுழைத்தாலோ / போர் முடிவை தெரியாமல் போர் தொடங்கினாலோ என்ன நடக்கும் என்பதற்கு "வியட்னாம் போர்" சிறந்த உதாரணம். வடக்கு வியட்நாமில் கம்யூனிசம் பரவுவதை தடுப்பதற்காக அமெரிக்க பிரெஞ்சு படைக்கு ஆதரவளித்தது. வடக்கு தெற்கு என்று இரண்டாக பிரிந்த வியட்நாமில் தேவையற்ற போரால் அநியாயமாக லட்சக்கணக்கில் மக்கள் இறந்தார்கள். அமெரிக்கா, தான் வெற்றிபெறுவோம் என்ற நம்பிக்கையை தூள் தூளாக உடைத்தவர் ஹோ சீ மின் என்று வியட்நாம் போராளி. விளைவு - அமெரிக்கா வேறு வழியின்றி வாயில் நுரைதள்ளி தோற்று தன் படைகளை விலக்கிக்கொண்டது. கம்யூனிசம் வளரக்கூடாது என்ற ஒரே நோக்கத்திற்காக வியட்நாம் மக்களின் போராட்ட குணத்தை சந்திக்க வேண்டியதாயிற்று. இப்படி ஒவ்வொரு போரிலும், ஒவ்வொரு பாடங்கள் கற்று கொள்ளலாம். வாழ்க்கையில் நடக்கும் எதிர்பார்த்த நிகழ்வுகளை எப்படி எதிர்கொண்டு, சாதுரியமாக முடக்குவதை இந்த போர்கள் நமக்கு கற்றுக் கொடுக்கின்றன. அவசியம் படிக்கவேண்டிய புத்தகம்! தவற விடாதீர்கள்!
