I'm glad this was the book that has started my journey back into Tamil reading. A beautiful story that focuses on the minusculae of its three main characters. There was a nice character arc to each one and it was all brought out beautifully! Even if it fails the Bechdel test, it was still a nice feminist novel that had really strong female characters. Overall a short read, that is definitely worth your time!

An excellent example of searching for love and losing the love We already have in our hands. The writer has beautifully co-related the past and present life situations of the Hero. At last the helicopter has not landed but crashed !!

Had picked up the book with excitement, but found the prose jagged and awkward at times. The story follows Amirtham, a married, middle-aged man, who is unsatisfied and unfulfilled in his marriage, and finds a young theatre actress who reminds him of an ex. The characters have very sharp attributes which clash with each other. The story progresses via these arguments and conflicts, right from page one. However, on occasion, reactions and words of some characters felt dissonant and forced. I'm unsure if this was due to the translation or the text itself.

A brilliant novel that captures the dichotomy of human mind evocatively.A rare non-political novel by Indira Parthasarathy. Wish he had written more such psychoanalytical novels on relationships and human mind outside the realms of politics and bureaucracy.
