Even though the story was little predictable , writer's unique style and thrilling plot gives you a worth shot And confirms sujatha's mastery of the genre ❤️

A strangely magnetic book that draws you in with its charms. I thought I was so brilliant when I predicted the plot. But the climax proved me wrong .

A good action drama from Sujatha and as usual another unexpected climax gives a little high when done with this book

I always enjoy a Sujatha's book, however predictable the plot is. It gives such a joy to read his works.

A wellwritten short spy thriller. Pleasantly surprised to know such books existed in 1970s tamil Nadu which is exciting even in 2024.

Superb story ..but little predictable but the last chapter is an unexpected twist

Whenever I hit a reading slump, Tamil writer Sujatha has been my go-to. His short stories usually help me get back into the reading groove. But this time, I picked up an audiobook instead—part of my personal quest to listen to 100 different audiobooks across genres by various narrators. So I’ve been paying more attention to the narration: the voice, the diction, the pacing, and how absorbed I feel while listening. The story itself is a pretty standard James Hadley Chase or James Bond-style thriller, set in Delhi and written in Tamil. Nothing groundbreaking. But what truly elevates it is the narration by Deepika Arun, the doyenne of Tamil audiobooks with over 1000 hours of spoken audio to her credit. She brings the story to life and makes it stick. Her voice work adds a richness that makes even a simple plot feel memorable.

பதிநான்கு அத்தியாயம் கொண்ட இந்த நாவல் முழுக்க முழுக்க தன்னிலையில் சொல்லப்படும்! மத்திய அரசாங்கத்தில் வேலை புரியும் ஒருவருடைய வாழ்க்கை முன்று நாளில் எப்படி தலை கீழாக மாறியது என்றதே நாவலின் கரு! முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரம் வரும் அந்த நபரின் பெயரோ அவர் வேளை செய்கின்ற சரியான பதவியோ இந்த நாவலில் குறிப்பிடாமலே கதை நகர்த்துவார்கள்! அரசாங்க பதவியில் இருக்கும் கதாநாயகனுக்கு அவரின் மேல் அதிகாரி ஒரு சிறிய வேலை உத்தரவு விடுகிறார்! டில்லி ஏர்போர்ட் வந்து இறங்கும் டாக்டர் ராமச்சந்திரனையும் அவர் கொண்டு வரும் சில காகிதங்களை பத்திரமாக அலைத்து வருவதே அந்த வேலை! இதன் பின் அவர் எந்த எந்த சிக்கலுக்கு உள்ளானர் அதிலிருந்து மீண்டார என்பதே நாவலின் கதை! ஜேம்ஸ்பாண்ட் பாணியில் பரபரப்புக்கு பஞ்சம் இல்லாத இந்த நாவல் ஒரு சில இடத்தில் ஒரு சில கதாபாத்திரங்களுடைய வலுவை குறைக்கிறது! சில நேரங்களில் ஏன் எதற்கு என்ற கேள்வி களும் கேட்க்க கூடும்! அரசாங்க நிழல்களில் நடக்கும் சில விஷயங்களை கற்பனையோடு எழுதியுள்ளார் சுஜாதா!நில், கவனி, தாக்கு!’ 1970களில் தினமணி கதிரில் தொடராக வந்த நாவல் இது!

இந்த நாவல் ஒரு அணு விஞ்ஞானி கடத்தப்படும் திடுக்கிடும் டில்லி சம்பவத்திலிருந்து துவங்கி தேசம் கடந்து சென்று ஆச்சரியத்தில் முடிகிறது. A Wednesday படம் மாதிரி, இது ஓரிரு நாட்களில் நடக்கும் கதை.

Just finished Nil Kavani Thaakku by Sujatha, and what a ride! I’ll admit, there were moments where I thought I had the plot figured out, but that final chapter hit me with a twist I didn't see coming at all. It’s hard to believe this was written in the 70s—the pacing is so gripping I ended up finishing the whole thing in one sitting. Highly recommend if you want a classic thriller that stands the test of time.

2.5 stars. predictable story., but last chapter/few pages!. that's a good move.

This book counts as when Sujatha wanted to write a James Bond novel. The cover of the book will support me. An intelligence officer (supposed), is assigned a menial task of picking up a doctor and dropping him at the hotel. Except they get ambushed and the doctor kidnapped. He vows to his superior officer that he will bring him back in 24 hours and then does some really stupid stuff to get him back. In this process there is a James bondish, bond girl who assists him and then he has to rescue. The mystery doesn't end where it is supposed to end and then it becomes a challenge to the reader if you guessed the entire mystery. Loved the attempt. Audiobook narration by Deepika Arun is a plus!

- Book 18 of 2022- நில் கவனி தாக்கு Author-Sujatha I have decided to read this book for my Thalaivan’s birthday (May3,2022). I have read most of the Sujatha books already..So I was left with few options only and I decided to go with this one. My favourite genre of Sujatha’s is absolutely Mystery Thriller. Everyone who have read his book would definitely have the same answer! This is written 50 years ago, but it would still draw one’s attention. That’s SUJATHA! A scientist gets kidnapped in order to collect the nation’s important atomic bomb operation, the hero who is also a government employee gets involved and retrieved him from the criminals, later he will get to know that it was his senior officer who was behind this entire operation. What happens next is the mystery! If you have read a lot of Sujatha books already, you can guess the plot easily by the end of seven chapters! He himself challenges the reader to figure out the mystery.. “இந்தக் கதையை இதுவரை படித்து வந்தவர்கள் இனி வரப்போகும் கடைசி அத்தியாயத்தின் நிகழ்ச்சிகளை எதிர்பார்த்திருந்தீர்கள் என்றால் நீங்கள் புத்திசாலித்தனத்தில் சராசரிக்கு மிகவும் மேலே. எங்கள் ஆபீசில் வேலை செய்யத் தகுதி உடையவர்கள்.” Even though it’s predictable, one can’t stop enjoying his witty story telling skill! As usual, it had a lot of Sujatha touches and below is one! “ ‘எனக்குப் பச்சை குத்தியது எந்த இடத்தில் தெரியுமா? காட்டட்டுமா?’ என்றாள். ‘காண்பி’ என்றேன் ஆவலுடன். ‘பழைய டில்லியில் இருக்கிறது அந்த இடம். போகலாமா?’ ‘நாட்டி கர்ல்’ என்று சிரித்தேன்.” 'Lateral thinking' was a hallmark technique used by him. He had this uncanny knack of explaining some of the most difficult scientific concepts with amazing ease. All his stories would grab a reader’s attention because of his gripping plot. When you’re reading his books, your attention is concentrated on it and held by it! Sujatha’s reader group is growing every single day and that says it all right? A good writer will live forever and he has no death. Even if you are not an ardent reader or don’t enjoy reading, pick a Sujatha book first.
