I have read this book after 10years through kindle. Kalki's choice of vocabulary and characterization is impressive. Except in a few places, the flow and keeping the suspense is well maintained. I recommend the book for readers of all ages. However, if you have less idea about Tamilnadu and south indian History, I suggest you go through the gist of kings/rulers of India before British Invasion to get the complete essence of it.

Loved the last few chapters. What an ending to the story!! Marvelous writing! Literally cried when Kundhavi was confessing her plans to her father at the end and Narasimha Pallavar shed a bit!! Kundhavi character reminded me of Lakshmi’s acting in Raaja Raaja Cholan movie! Ironically she was also named Kundhavi 😃 Anyone interested in the fascinating story about Chola kingdom must read this!! And to understand the historic significance of such times. Loved this more than Sivagamiyin Sabadham even if it was just a preclude to Ponniyin Selvan! Maybe because I hail from the same city!

An incredible book and an absolute must-read! The vivid storytelling transports you straight into the historical timeline, making you feel as if you're witnessing everything unfold before your eyes.
