The main theme of this book is "what is the difference between human and animal ? Which is rational." So, think rational is a scale of measurements. Zero means animal and more than some threshold is human. Some concepts in our society which is based on only belief there is nothing about logical reasoning which means zero rational. It's like convert peoples from human to animal state. Some of these concepts are God, Religion , Devotion and caste. In all of these if you believe in God then you must believe in Religion, Devotion and caste. There is no way around it.

நான் நாத்திகனாகி பல வருடங்கள் கழித்து தான் பெரியாரை படிக்க தொடங்கினேன். என்னுடைய எண்ணங்கள் அனைத்தையும் அப்படியே புத்தக வடிவில் படித்தது போலவே இருந்தது. இன்றே இத்தகைய எண்ணங்களை வெளிப்படையாக சொல்வது கஷ்டம் தான். என் நண்பர்களுடன் சச்சரவு எல்லாம் வந்திருக்கிறது. இதை அபோதே பகிரங்கமாக பேசியது பெரியார் கொண்டிருந்த மனிதாபிமானத்தை காட்டுகிறது.

Its more like a pamphlet talks against caste system, Hinduism rituals, Hindu gods. more importantly he Rationalism and common sense :) just a 40 pages book Periyar for dummies! :)
