இதை பள்ளிக்காலத்தில் சாகா பயிற்சிக்கு சென்றவன் என்ற முறையில் என்னால் உணர முடிந்தது.. இந்த கதையில் dark humor என்ற வகையில் நன்றாக இருந்தது

Simply superb.
Really a good naval which reflects present trends of honour killing. A person like angle uncle is there in every village who will volunterly present in the died man house and do all the helps and nothing expect except liquor.
Excellent Story
Excellent narration. I thought it is a tragic story in the beginning, but couldn’t control laugh at some point. CN Annadurai - Sub Inspector of police’s treatment was highlight.. Way to go..

Dark Humour ரொம்ப பிரமாதமா கையாண்டிருக்கிறார் எழுத்தாளர். இந்த உலகத்துல ரெண்டு பேரு இணைந்து வாழ்வதற்கு இடையில் பிரச்சனை என்று சொல்லி ஜாதி மதம்னு எவன் தூக்கிகிட்டு வந்தாலும் நல்ல செருப்ப பார்த்து வாயிலேயே அடிங்க. நான் சந்தோசமா இருக்கிறத எனக்குப் பிடித்த பெண்ணுடன் இருக்கிறதா உன் ஜாதி, மதம் தடுக்கும் என்றால் அது என் மயிருக்கு சமானம்
Good time pass Tamil story
Author is supposedly new. Story is about a boy who does not have any purpose in life. He gets into a tragic event, revenge, love and following in unexpected events. This story is good read for time pass. This is my first Tamil story I have completed. It is a good feel to read some stories in your mother language. author's writing style is catchy too

Short but speaks a lot
This novel is just a short one but speaks lot..i have been reading his writings for quite long time..he is really a true inspiration for youngsters to how to deal with the rightists..trust me if anyone start reading wont keep it down until reaches the last page..
A Cool Satire
Given the background of the Author, and his well known political views, RSS love story is filled with wits and humour pertaining to current social scenario. Since am also from Madurai , I can relate so much than others. I enjoyed the theatre episode to the maximum. On a critical note, chapters could have been kept longer and in a whole Novel is short yet sweet.
The first few pages (that comes along with sample) was really impressive & ROFL. So I bought the book but the remaining pages the author failed to carry forward the "engaging narration". The conflict between dravidian politics vs hindutva is the axis of this novel and the characters are revolving around it. It has its own awesome dialogues which makes you laugh, of course. But in order to become a complete novel, it is missing few aspects. Good attempt!

நல்ல கதை.. நாலஞ்சு எடத்துல குபீர்னு அடக்க முடியாம சிரிச்சிட்டேன்.. அதுலயும் "போலீஸ் அடிச்சது இல்ல.. உங்க பொண்ணு கடிச்சது" அல்டிமேட்.. முற்போக்கு சிந்தனையை அந்த இயக்கத்தின் மூலமாக சொன்னது அருமை.. ஆரம்பத்தில் இருவரின் தற்கொலை தூக்கிவாரி போட்டது.. இழவு மாமாவின் கடைசி வரி நச்.. தெப்பக்குளம் போலீஸ் பெயர் சி. என். அண்ணாதுரை தெய்வமே எங்கயோ போயிட்டீங்க.. ஒரு குறும்படம் எடுக்க சரியான கதை.. வாழ்த்துக்கள்
Ordinary story
Positives: Good writing skill of Don. Simple, funny and natural style of writing. Feels like a movie script most often. Often with underlying humor and satire that really peaks in the second half.
Cons...the second half is rather very shallow. Given how Don writes his views in Facebook about social issues, the punch was missing. அடித்து ஆட வேண்டிய இடத்தில் singles and doubles type scores not what you expect from Shewag.
Overall a good read.
Slams honour killings in an inimitable style!!!
If my memory serves me right, author had earlier penned dialogue for a tamil film which was based on honour killings. This story too talks about it although in a lighter note..he has sprinkled humour throughout the story . The story ridicules old fashioned ideas, customs and one can relate it to the present day situation prevailing in India.. It seems author had written two books, looking forward to reading it..
A love story with humour
It is a love story. If you are from Tamil Nadu and aware of the political and social happenings you will laugh louder especially in the second Part of the story. The Theatre incident is very humorous. The great sacrifice of Raghavan's mother is an interesting turning point. Some of the characters have been factually portrayed.
This short novel is for a light and quick reading.
Amazing narration
Fast pace, humorous, witty, dark, breaking clichés on its way. One of the best novels in recent times. When you are really down want to do something to lighten u up this is the novel for you..
I never knew a novel to be on par with movie or series with respect to bringing the act alive.. This novel is up there..
The climax is just wow.. A must read for grazers like me
Contemporary love story
Is this a good love story? Or a political satire? Whatever it is, I just enjoyed the read and laughed so much!! The author has such a charming way of presenting the story in a entertaining way and at the same time has contemplated on all contemporary issues in Tamilnadu....without posing hurdles in the flow of the story!!!!! I love reading Don Ashok's political and social posts on social media and he is equally as good in writing fiction too!!!! Especially, thanks to the author for writing a love story devoid of pretensions and unwanted "holy cliches".
A Serious Social Love Story
Many say its a comedy story.. But for me its a serious story narrated in funny way..in fact very funny way..but couldn't laugh..feeling guilty to laugh actually.. I felt so sad for Somu as a person. But finally it was a happy ending for him. I happy about that..
There was writer called rajendra Kumar who introduced this dark comedy in Tamil i guess.. Not sure. I have read his brindavanamum nondha kumaranum ..
One of the awesome stories of that time.
RSS love story narration is similar to that but it deeply penetrates into us on social issues.. There is a strong message which goes inside us without any imposition.

Surprisingly deep read
A separate FB post can be written about the methods and places I choose to read the book to avoid being seen laughing like crazy!
The author himself maintains that he wanted to focus on humor and be succinct in the matter he wanted to convey. Though the story is short, I think he succeeded in both.
The story races through situations that makes people uncomfortable to read or think but doesn't fail to showcase the consequences of said situations.
The story uses humor to convey personalities and quirks of it's characters and saves lot of pages and time of it's readers in the process.
The consequences of death and it's effect on people is deep but well within the context of the story.
This book is for everyone who enjoys humor and wants to read without feeling burdened by the prose. A very good effort
A Satirical Story with Shawian Twists.
Don Ashok has carved a little gem out of many an issue that surround our country. He's a humorous guy, no doubt and the style of writing is pretty new to Tamil Literature. GK Chesterton and Bernard Shaw tried similar styles decades ago. I loved the dark humor, yet what struck me was the brilliant philosophy strewn around by Ashok.." only for men, gods are different, but, for God, all humans are same" " in six months, only now i see my dad and bro looked calm with their eyes open" " Ma, if you hang your self, your neck will break"...
A racy novel, not to be missed to know about the politics of Love and Love for Politics in Tamil Nadu. Any liberal who hates the damage being done by fundamentalists, must read this lil gem, to get rejuvenated. I just did.

சுவாரசியமான எழுத்து நடை. Good flow. Somasundaram's mom, Ragavan's mom, uncle... Charachters are well portrayed. Though stroy weighed more on political satire.
After a long time a tamil novel
Laughed out loud in quite a few places. A story based on few current insidents. Pretty well written short story.
Very good plot and very short novel. Mocking RSS in comical way especially referral of H. Raja. Actually I loved the way don ashok presented but it lacks in some way. C.N annadurai introduction is Vera level.
Don Ashok's have great talent in telling stories. But this one is not his best. I have read his blog articles and short stories before.
கதை தொடக்கம் எப்படி இருக்குனு பார்க்க வாசிக்க ஆரம்பித்து முழு கதையும் முடிச்சாச்சு. A complete fun ride not to be missed. எழவு மாமா/கோவிந்தி அம்மாள் தான் highlight. நிறைய இடங்கள்ல இப்போ இருக்க அரசியல்-சமுதாய வெளிப்பாடு தெரிஞ்சது. இதை வெறுமனே சொல்ல வந்த கருத்தை மட்டும் சொல்லாம அதை ஒரு sarcastic humorous way ல சொன்ன விதம் அருமை. ஒரு 90 mins எதை பத்தியும் யோசிக்க விடாம கதையோட நகர்த்திட்டு போகுது. இவரோட மத்த நாவல்களையும் படிக்கலாம்னு ஒரு எண்ணம்.
கத்துக்கிட்ட மொத்த வித்தையும் இறக்கிருக்காரு... நீங்க நம்பலானலும் அது தான் நெசம்.
மனதை கவரும் கதைமாந்தர்கள், எளியநடை, மணிரத்தினத்தையே சிரிக்க வைக்கும் அளவிலான நகைச்சுவை காட்சிகள் நிறைந்தது. இலக்கிய கோட்பாடாவது மயிராவது, தான் சொல்ல நினைக்கும் கருத்துக்களை அனைத்து தரப்பினருக்கும் வெற்றிகரமாக கொண்டு செல்பவன் தான் உண்மையான எழுத்தாளன். வாழ்த்துகள் தோழர். தங்களது இலக்கிய பயணம் வெற்றிகரமாக தொடரட்டும்.
Don Ashok is popular on the FB Tamil circuit for his pro-DMK and by its extension anti-BJP posts. Though i don't always agree with what he has to say, i always read his posts mainly for the sarcastic humour.
Here he has woven many of those aspects into a short work of fiction that did not disappoint on the humour front. I laughed a lot. It lacked a bit of sophistication which might have been deliberate to max the lol moments.
Actual rating: 3.5 stars. Just knocking off .5 stars for the short length of the book.
A very underrated short novel. Extremely funny for a dark subject. Anybody from Madurai area will thoroughly enjoy the language and humor.I laughed out loud several times while reading this book.The underlying theme is very relevant and important to our time.
This was a good read.
Though there were a lot of monologues going on, I didn’t feel bored to read this first person narrative. The jokes were spot on and I laughed a lot.
The climax was rushed. The ending felt like more of a plot convenience than a real ending. Author could have written the ending in a better way.
But overall a quick and fun read.
