this book shows the preliminary overview of people mindset and how it changes with a small acting with preplanned motive. I mean the shunbekar's idea to use pramila s acting skills. people are people everywhere with preloaded mindsets in a broader perspective irrespective whether scientific or superstitious. Basically a belief or faith maketh a person to reason out. Good narration by sujatha

I think Computer Gramam was my 1st Tamil novel. I wanted to read a few easy tamil novels before venturing into Ponniyin Selvan and I picked Sujatha. This was a nice & easy read about a village with superstitious beliefs. Things take a wild turn people start dying and the villagers think it is due a supernatural power but is it really?

good ideaeveryone have special talents with themin this book hero thinks that heroine of story is not brisk and she is not fit to do any work and she dont have any talents with her. hero his friend and heroine going for village where people are not educated. they three getting trouble because of those people. finally with help of heroine they are recovering from the problem.

சுஜாதாவின் நூல்களை நான் வாசிக்க ஆரம்பித்தது 2020ல் தான். நான் வாசித்த அவரது முதல் நாவல் "விழுந்த நட்சத்திரம்". அதன் பிறகு சுஜாதாவை தொடர்ந்து வாசிக்க ஆரம்பித்தேன். சென்ற ஆண்டு மட்டும் சுஜாதாவின் 20 நூல்களை வாசித்தேன். கம்ப்யூட்டர் கிராமம் 2022ஆம் ஆண்டின் முதல் சுஜாதா புத்தகம். எப்போதும் ரைட் ஹாண்டில் ஆடும் ஒரு பேட்ஸ் மேன், ஒரு ஆட்டம் லெப்ட் ஹாண்டில் ஆடினால் எப்படி இருக்குமோ, அப்படி இருந்தது இந்த நூல். நிறைய சுஜாதாவின் நாவல்களை வாசித்ததாலோ என்னவோ கிளைமாக்ஸ் அதிகம் ஆச்சரியமளிக்கவில்லை, ரசிக்கவும் இல்லை.

Pheww.. picked this one for a quick read. Again a good novel from Sujatha ! Did not expect the genre shift as the book made its progress to the latter half. Some thought provoking dialogues about the superstitions still being followed (of course when the book was written) and a gripping writing made me hooked to this book.

Faced paced thriller

Interesting and suspense as the usual Sujata No Ganesh Vasanth. Still a good investigation story at the end. If anyone watched M G R Magan movie, the climax is stolen from here.

A very fun and interesting read! Loved the characters and the contrast of the settings! Well written and fast-paced. A complete breeze!

Satellite base station நிறுவதற்காக மும்பை யில் இருந்து வள்ளிகுப்பம் என்ற கிராமத்திற்கு வரும் ஒரு குழு.கிராமத்தில் அவர்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்ட பிரச்னை அதை எவ்வாறு சமாளித்து தங்கள் வேலையை முடித்தனர் என்ற கதை.

Two engineers go to a village to install a satellite but to do so they need to cut down a sacred tree. The villagers oppose this saying contains a god's spirit. Suddenly a series of mysterious events and death occur and the villagers blame it on the god's wrath. But what is the truth? Computer Graamam was an engaging thriller, Sujatha is impressive at building suspense. The English and Hindi written in Tamil script is a bit of a pain to read, but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed this story!

In Computer Gramam, Sujatha does an exquisite job of juxtaposing the life in an Indian rural, village, replete with its superstitious beliefs, with the world of technological advancements and satellites. The fast-paced thriller is bound to keep its readers briskly turning the pages, as they try to rationalize the bizarre happenings, before the predictable plot twist at the end.

As always sujatha sir impresses with different plot revolving around technology. The plot though is between science and spiritual belief, sujatha shows his expertise in handling it in such a way that neither of the sides get offended. Though the plot starts interesting, around the middle changing into a mystic thriller and there after direction of plot going in different manner (with no big surprises) didn't fit in well (according to me). I was expecting different things from sujatha reading the title and end cover, but was bit let down. With the plot taken as technology meets distant village which is centuries behind sujatha sir could have handled it in lot many different and better ways. Not best of his books, in case you are not a ardent fan of sujatha you can skip it. If you are a great fan you will not listen me (similar to how I didn't) so go for it.

ஒரு சினிமா படம் பார்த்ததுப் போல இருந்தது, சுஜாதா அவர்களின் நாவலான "கம்ப்யூட்டர் கிராமம்". அவ்வளவு விருவிருப்பு, வேகம். கதையொன்றும் பெருசுயில்லை. ஆனால் நல்ல மண்வாசனை, இரு கொலை, கற்பழிப்பு, போலிஸ், சாமியாட்டம், திகில் எல்லாம் உண்டு. அது 1980கள் ஏதோ ஒரு வருடம். தமிழ்நாட்டின் கடைக்கோடியில் ஒரு கிராமம், அங்கே தான் நாட்டின் தொலைக்காட்சி சேவைக்காக ஒரு சாட்டிலைட் கிரவுண்ட் செட்டப் செய்ய வேண்டி இரு பொறியாளர்கள் பம்பாயில் இருந்து வருகிறார்கள், அவர்களில் ஒருவன் புதிதாக மணமுடித்து தன் மனைவியொடு வந்திருக்கிறான். அவர்களுக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்ட அரசு நிலத்தில் ஒரு மரம், அதில் முனிஸ்வரன் சாமி இருப்பதாக ஊர் மக்கள் நம்புகிறார்கள் - மரத்தை எடுத்தே விட வேண்டும் என்கிறது விஞ்ஞானம்; தடுக்கிறது நம்பிக்கையைப் பயன்படுத்தும் உள்ளூர் வியாபாரிகள். இரண்டும் கைக்கோர்த்து எப்படி செல்லலாம் என்று வேடிக்கையாக சொல்கிறார் ஆசிரியர். வெறும் 166 பக்கங்களில் நம்மை பல மாதங்கள் ஒரு கிராமத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் சென்று உலாவிடுகிறார் திரு.சுஜாதா.

மும்பையில் பணிபுரியும் மனோஜ் மற்றும் ஷண்பேகர் இருவரும் பணி நிமித்தமாக வள்ளிக்குப்பம் செல்ல நேருகிறது. மனோஜ் தமிழ் சரளமாக பேசும் இளைஞன்.ஷண்பேகர் மாரத்தி ஆனால் இந்த குழுவில் இருப்பவர்களை போன்று அதிகமாக புத்தகம் படிக்கும் இளைஞன்(தத்துவம் கூட பேசுவான்)தமிழ் கற்று கொண்டு இருக்கிறான். இதற்கிடையில் மனோஜ்-க்கு திடீரென திருமணம். அதற்கு அடுத்த நாளே அந்த கிராமத்திற்கு செல்ல இருப்பதால் மனைவியையும் டோட்டுவையும்(ப்ரமிளா ஆசையாக வளர்க்கும் நாய்) கூட அழைத்து செல்கிறார்கள். நவீனமான டெக்னாலஜியைச் சார்ந்த ஒரு தகவல் தொடர்பு சாதனத்தை நிறுவ வரும் இரு கம்ப்யூட்டர் இளைஞர்கள் செல்கிறார்கள். அந்த கிராம மக்கள் அறிவியலில் மிக பின்தங்கியவர்கள். அந்த இளைஞர்கள் வேலை செய்யும் இடத்தில் ஒரு மரம் இருக்கிறது. அதை நீக்கியே ஆக வேண்டும் என்ற கட்டத்திற்கு வந்துவிடுவதால் மரத்தை வெட்ட ஏற்பாடு செய்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் அந்த மரத்தை கிராம மக்கள் கடவுளாக வழிபாடு செய்கிறார்கள். ஆகையால் எதிப்பு கிளம்புகிறது. மனோஜ் மற்றும் ஷண்பேகர் அந்த ஊரின் பெரிய ஆள் ஒருவரை சந்தித்து பேசுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் ஒத்து போகவில்லை. அதன் பின் கடைசியாக மரத்தை வெட்டி கொள்ளலாம் என்று முடிவு செய்கிறார்கள். அதை வெட்ட முயற்சி செய்வதால் அங்கு நடக்கும் விபரீதங்கள் பலவை. பின்னர் ஷண்பேகர் ஒரு கொலை கேஸில் மாட்டிக் கொள்கிறான் அதுவே உச்சகட்டம். மனைவிக்குள் சாமி வந்து போகிறது. மனோஜ்-க்கு இங்கு நடப்பவை எல்லாம் அவனை தலை சுற்ற வைக்கிறது. இறுதியில் மரம் என்ன ஆனது? ஷண்பேகர் அந்த கொலையில் இருந்து தப்பித்தானா? மனோஜ் -இன் வேலை அங்கு நடை பெற்றாத என்பதை மீதி கதை. சுஜாதா அவர்களின் மொழிநடை வேகமாக, எளிமையாக,காதலாக,நகைச்சுவையாக மற்றும் பரபரப்பாக இருக்கிறது. நானே ஒரு மணி நேரத்தில் முடித்துவிட்டேன். எனக்கு பிடித்த எழுத்தாளர்களில் ஒருவர். நன்றி!! கம்ப்யூட்டர் கிராமம் சுஜாதா மும்பையைத் தலைமையகமாகக் கொண்டு தொலைத் தொடர்பு வசதிகளை இந்தியாவின் பல கிராமங்களில் ஏற்படுத்தித் தரும் ஒரு பன்னாட்டு நிறுவனம், தமிழ்நாட்டில் வள்ளிக்குப்பம் என்னும் ஒரு கிராமத்தைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து இன்டெர்நெட் கிராமமாக மாற்ற தனது நிறுவனத்திலிருந்து மனோஜ், ஷண்பேகர் என்னும் இரண்டு கம்ப்யூட்டர் இன்ஜினியர்களை அந்த கிராமத்திற்கு அனுப்புகிறது. ஷண்பேகர் திருமணமாகாதவன். மனோஜ் அப்போதுதான் திருமணமானவன். மனோஜ் தனது புது மனைவி பிரமீளாவோடு அந்தக் கிராமத்திற்கு தன் நண்பன் ஷண்பேகரோடு வருகிறான். அந்தக் கிராமத்தில் அவர்கள் விலையுயர்ந்த சாதனங்களை நிறுவ மேற்கொள்ளும் முயற்சிகளில் தடைகள் பல ஏற்படுகின்றன. பூசாரி, பெரிய ஆலமரம், அந்த மரத்தில் குடி கொண்டிருக்கும் முனீஸ்வரன், மரத்தைப் பூஜை செய்யும் ஊர் ஜனங்கள், ஆலமரத்தில் இரத்தம் வடிவது, குளத்துக்கடியில் சிவலிங்கத்தைக் கண்டெடுப்பது, என்று அந்தக் கிராமம் பழைமையில் மூழ்கிக் கிடக்கிறது. இன்ஜினியர்கள் அந்த ஆலமரத்தை வெட்டுவதற்கு ஊர் மக்கள் ஒத்துக் கொள்ளவில்லை. திடீரென்று ஒரு நாள் ஒரு பெண் அந்தப் பெரிய மரத்தின் கிளைகளில் தொங்கிக் கொண்டிருப்பதைப் பார்த்த ஊர் ஜனங்கள் தெய்வக் குற்றம் ஏதோ நடந்துள்ளது என பயந்து போலீஸிடம் சொல்ல, போலீஸார் விசாரணையைத் துவக்குகின்றனர். சந்தேகத்தின் ஊசி ஷண்பேகர் மேல் விழுவதால், ஷண்பேகர் தலைமறைவு ஆகிறான். வி-ஸாட், ஆன்டென்னா, கம்ப்யூட்டர், மானிட்டர் என்று முப்பது வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பே கல்கி இதழில் சுஜாதா தொடர்கதையாக எழுதி வாசகர்களை மயக்கிய நாவல் இந்த ‘கம்ப்யூட்டர் கிராமம்’. ஆரம்பத்திலிருந்து நடுப்பக்கம் வரை பாஸிஞ்சராகப் போகும் வண்டி அப்புறம் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ்ஸாக மாறுகிறது. பழைமைக்கு ஒரு சொட்டு……… “…….என் மனைவி ப்ரமிளாவின்மேல் ஒரு ஆவேசம் போல வந்து அவள் நேராக நடந்து, ஒரு பாழடைந்த மண்டபத்தைக் காட்ட, அதில் முனீஸ்வரன் சிலை புதைந்திருந்தது. ராத்திரி ஒரு மின்னலுடன் இடி இடித்ததைப் பலபேர் பார்த்திருக்கிறார்கள். உஜாகர் சிங், கர்தார் சிங் இருவரும் பார்த்தனர். மரம் பிளந்துபோய் அதன் மத்தியிலிருந்து ரத்தம் வந்தது!……” நாவலில் வரும் முக்கிய கேரக்டர்ஸ்: மனோஜ் - பிரமீளா ஷண்பேகர் பூசாரி இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் ஷண்முகம் எஸ்.பி. செல்வகுமார் உஜாகர் சிங் கர்த்தார் சிங் நடேச பண்டிதர் பொதுவாக சுஜாதா நாவல்களில் அறிவு விதைகள் வாக்கியங்களில் ஏராளமாகப் புதைந்து கிடக்கும். ஹாஸ்யப் பூக்களும் ஆங்காங்கே பூத்திருக்கும். ஆன்மீகம், அரசியல், ஆங்கில மருத்துவம், சித்த மருத்துவம், சிற்பக்கலை, இசை, நடனம், தத்துவம், ஜோதிடம், வானசாஸ்திரம், காதல், மதம், பூர்வ ஜென்மம் என்று சுஜாதா தொடாத சப்ஜெக்டே இல்லை. இந்த நாவலிலும் சுஜாதா வாசகர்களை ஏமாற்றவில்லை.

This is so typical of Sujatha to base a story on the inherent tension that prevails between the rational and superstitious in India. A well paced crime thriller.

மஞ்சள் குங்குமம் பூசிய மரத்தையே முனீஸ்வரனாக வழிபடும் கிராமம். அங்கே நவீனமான டெக்னாலஜியைச் சார்ந்த ஒரு தகவல் தொடர்பு சாதனத்தை நிறுவ வரும் இரு கம்ப்யூட்டர் இளைஞர்கள். பழம் நம்பிக்கைக்கும், புதிய விஞ்ஞான முயற்சிக்குமான முரண்பாடுகளுக்கு மத்தியில் இளைஞர்களை திகைப்பில் ஆழ்த்துகின்றன சில வினோத நிகழ்வுகள். சரவெடி போல சுறு சுறுவென பற்றிச் செல்கிறது கதை.

Absolutely impossible to put down once you start reading it. Easily one of Sujatha's best works ever. I've said enough about his brilliance. Tamil readers are so lucky to have had such a genius. The book is so full of sarcasm and humor that you burst out laughing almost at every page. Twists are so perfect and the cliffhangers are placed marvellously. The final sentence of the book.. typical Sujatha's master-work. Refreshing to see a great heroine in Sujatha s novel. Its the perfect example for a mysterious,enjoyable, thrilling, humorous and an absolutely riveting novel. And if I'm getting a pet I'll b sure to name it Tottu. Can never forget that description about Tottu dhevar xD xD. Don't miss it. Don't!

damn.....what a book !!!!! went straight up to first place of my fav Sujatha works. the first half took a humorous tone with a pinch satirical socio-cultural drama. it moved quickly to serious crime thriller with a double homicide. the narration and tone were so grippy that u can keep it down once you took it. the story was simple and still managed to deliver complex ideologies. Sujatha writings were always an astounding jolt, the part where he describes human thought process, the way how human brain think in a given situation is impeccably genuine that it creates a forced conscious hysteria. brisk one-liners that give a humourous smug on the first read, will give u an in-depth personna of character and theme of the story. few such lines are, 1. "நீங்க பெரியார் கட்சியா " " இல்ல, விஞ்ஞான கட்சி" 2. " satellite நட வந்துத்து நரபலி பத்தி பேசுறோம் " . overall definitely a must read, easily the best work of Sujatha.

Let me take a moment to celebrate my first Tamil book! I had so much trouble reading in the beginning; it got easier with effort. Sujatha proved to be way ahead of his time with a nice little story that describes the foolish superstitious nature of people in an era of computers. Looking forward to try more of his books.

சமூக நாவலா? கிரைம் த்ரில்லரா? என்று யோசிக்குமளவுக்கு அமைதியாக நகரும் முதல் பாதியையும் இரட்டைக் கொலை, தலைமறைவு, மந்திரம் என்று விறுவிறுப்பாக நகரும் இரண்டாம் பாதியையும் இணைப்பது என்னவோ சுஜாதாவின் எள்ளல் கலந்த தனித்துவமான எழுத்துநடை தான்.ஐம்பதுக்கு மேற்பட்ட சுஜாதாவின் நாவல்களை வாசித்ததால் என்னவோ கிளைமாக்ஸ் அதிகம் ஆச்சரியமளிக்கவில்லை.கிராமப் பின்னணி, விவரணங்கள் , பாடல்கள் இடையிடையே கரையெல்லாம் செண்பகப்பூவை ஞாபகப்படுத்தின.
