பொன்னியின் செல்வன் போன்ற ஒரு அற்புத சரித்திர பெரு நாவலை காமிக்ஸ் வடிவில் கொண்டு வருவதென்பது எளிதல்ல. ஓவியர் மு. கார்த்திகேயன் அபாரமாக படங்கள் வரைந்து பொன்னியின் செல்வன் ஒரு சித்திரக் கதையாக உருவெடுக்க முன்னோடியாக இருந்திருக்கிறார். முதல் மூன்று தொகுதிகளின் விமர்சனத்தில் கூறியதுபோல் சித்திரக்கதைகளை விரும்பிப் படிக்கும் சிறுவர்களும், ஏன், பொன்னியின் செல்வனை கரைத்துக்குடித்துள்ள பெரியவர்களும் இந்த நவீன முயற்சியில் சந்தோஷம் காண முடியும். ஆனால் இந்த நான்காவது தொகுதியில் பெரியதொரு குறை தலை தூக்குகிறது. கதையை சுருக்கமாக கூறும் முயற்சி இந்த தொகுதியில் பல இடங்களில் தடுமாற்றம் காண்கிறது. பலருக்கு அது குழப்பத்தை உண்டு பண்ணலாம். அதனால் இந்தத் தொகுதிக்கு ஒரு மதிப்பெண் (*) குறைவாகத் தந்துளேன்.

The story reveals the plots planned against king and the two prince and kundavai learns about her step mother and tends to believe it might be Nandini’s mom. Nandini and gang arrive and the karigalan arrive at kandan maran’s home and the plot story unravels.

First some pages where dream of vanthiyathevan is explained could have been skipped (just my thought). Periya pazhuvetarayar is portrayed like villian. His words, tone and facial reactions were more crude than how kalki explains. Of course I could not remember if I felt pazhuvetarayar to be the villain while reading it first but the deeds of him explained in original book made me always see him has a respectable figure which comic could not bring in. Surprisingly sambuvarayar and other kings were more indian which is a good point of this book. The meeting conversation with periya pazhuvetarayar is good, bringing that out in so less page space is awesome. Good work. The expectation on who is coming in pallak is well brought in here as well. In all I would say best book of the 4 that have already come in.
